The objective is to provide capital growth and increasing income. The Manager seeks to achieve this by investing mainly in an ethically screened and diversified spread of UK equities (ordinary shares in companies listed on the UK stock market). The ethical screening applied to the Fund means that a number of the UKs largest companies (those that form part of the FTSE 1 Index) are screened out on ethical grounds. As a result, the Fund will usually include significant exposure to medium and smaller companies. While the Manager will invest mainly in equities, it may also invest in other investments such as derivatives (an investment contract between the Fund and a counterparty the value of which is derived from one or more underlying equities) to hedge positions or to gain exposure to companies to manage the portfolio efficiently.
