The investment objective of the Fund is to achieve above average capital growth. The ACD’s investment policy is to invest the assets of the Fund mainly in a relatively concentrated portfolio of equities of companies domiciled in Continental Europe or which have significant Continental European operations. The select investment approach means that the ACD has the flexibility to take significant stock and sector positions which may lead to increased levels of volatility.

Mark Nichols

Mark Nichols joined Columbia Threadneedle Investments as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst within the European equities team in 2015. Prior to joining the company Mark was a portfolio manager in the European equities team at F&C. Before that he spent six years at Oechsle International Advisors, where he was a partner and a member of the investment strategy committee. Mark also covered European equities at Lehman Brothers and Invesco. Mark holds a MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a MA in Contemporary History & Politics from London University.

Dave Dudding

David Dudding is a senior portfolio manager at Columbia Threadneedle Investments where he is the lead portfolio manager of the Global Focus strategy and co-manager of the European Select strategy. He joined the company as an equity research analyst in 1999, moving on to manage the European Smaller Companies strategy for 10 years until December 2012. David previously worked for John Swire and Sons in Hong Kong and for Investors Chronicle as a financial journalist. He holds a Modern History degree and a European Politics Masters degree from Oxford University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of the UK.
