Richard Watts

Richard is the Chief Investment Officer of BMO Global Asset Management, and the CIO for Europe the Middle East and Africa. Richard is a board member of three group companies including the BMO Asset Management Netherlands B.V., and a member of the Investment Committee of the Investment Association, the Trade Association for Asset management in the U.K. Previous roles in Richards career with the Group and predecessor companies include: co-Head of Investment for BMO GAM EMEA, Head of Fixed Income, Head of Investment Solutions, and Head of Liability Driven Investment. Richard joined the company in 2005 after eight years at the Investment Bank JP Morgan where he worked in the interest rate derivative business both in London and New York. Richard holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Exeter.

Nick has worked at the company since 2008, covering a variety of sectors for the wider UK equities team. Prior to his appointment as manager of the Merian UK Smaller Companies Focus Fund, Nick acted as deputy manager on both the onshore and offshore UK smaller companies funds, since January 2014. Before this he was a sell-side analyst for more than 10 years, with a broad range of analytical responsibilities, most recently at Citigroup.
